Happy #Lawyercat Anniversary for all who celebrate! It's been four years since the kitten appeared in my Zoom courtroom, and I released the 48 second video that made the whole world laugh. Here is the full video showing the big reveal at the end (in two parts because Blue sky). Enjoy!

Playing with A.I. image generation. Here's the prompt I used and the two results. I would love to see some of your results trying it as well. (I used CGPT.) It's definitely improving.

Absolutely, my very good friend!

Which one of them do you think is the judge?

In Texas, the allocution statement (which is not the actual "victim impact statement" defined in 56A.151 in Texas CCP) is governed by this code section (42.03). It requires someone to appear "in person" (which an AI Avatar is not) and content is limited to "the person's views." So, not ok in Texas.

And does it impact your decision to know that (apparently) in Arizona the judge watches the victim impact statement before announcing the sentence and considers it as evidence in setting punishment?

Arizona court allows AI generated video of deceased manslaughter victim to serve as family's victim impact statement at trial of his killer. Avatar recited words written by victim's surviving sister. No one objected and the judge commented on its impact. Is this ok?

After an Arizona man was shot, an AI video of him addresses his killer in court
AI experts say this is likely the first time that AI has been used in the U.S. to create an impact statement read by an AI rendering of the deceased victim

Today, the #lawyercat video was added to the YouTube Hall of Fame. The @nytimes.com named it one of the top YouTube videos of all time. It will forever be part of my story. As I've always said, "You don't choose your legacy. Your legacy chooses you!"
