Thanks for supporting my longform Broncos & NFL coverage y'all. I don't plan to stop that.

Wanted to announce that I'm looking at diving further into some of my other interests down the road, and the bye week seemed a good time.

The Broncos have a 99.1% chance at the playoffs.

They're the #1 seed in the AFC 50.6% of the time.

Denver makes Super Bowl 60 in 26.4% of the 25,000 simulations.

Sean Payton and Bo Nix take home the Lombardi 10.2% of the time.

One thing that bears monitoring over the remainder of the season:

@qbklass.bsky.social mentioned how Washington utilized a lot of Trips nub to attack the Broncos defense, keying on how the Giants did the same.

Packers, Chiefs both have the personnel to really lean into this.
Week 13 Hangover!

• I don’t like watching the Broncos

• Bucs/Cards game that was weird to get a handle on

• Dolphins/Saints game that led both @robertmays.bsky.social and I to an interesting place with the Dolphins

There is no team in the AFC playoffs the Broncos want to face less than the Buffalo Bills.

If healthy, they have the OL to neutralize Broncos rush and mash on the ground with gap blocking.

Their defense is zone and disguise heavy, with a tremendous pass rush.

#Raiders are 0-4 in the AFC West after going 0-6 last season. Only teams to lose every division game in back-to-back seasons since 2002 realignment:
2020-21 Jets
2016-17 Browns
2008-09 Lions
2008-09 Rams
2005-06 Raiders

On today's Football 301 @natetice.bsky.social & @fourverts.bsky.social discussed the Broncos victory over the Commanders as well as playoff implications.

TLDR: Denver doesn't want to face the Bills if they don't have to

Over the last 4 games the Broncos defense is 22nd against the run and 13th overall, per @fourverts.bsky.social

Note the way the Commanders receiver ducks his shoulder and hooks PS2's arm as he's running through him.

Textbook OPI.
I'm still salty the NFL ignored a blatant pick play.

In my mind, Patrick Surtain II still hasn't allowed a touchdown this year as this was clearly a Vegas TD.

Bo Nix with a big boy pass chart against the Commanders.

Love to see how effective he was attacking the middle of the field.

The Broncos escape Washington after a tight one against the Commies.

What can we glean from an ugly win over Dan Quinn's Commanders?

Broncos have 6 wins by 3 points or fewer. Only teams ever with more in an entire season:
2003 Panthers 7
1998 Cardinals 7

That's the kind of game that makes you want officials investigated.

Glad the Broncos survived, but it was never that close.

R.J. Harvey had 11 carries for 30 yards (2.7 YPC) & a long of 7 against the Chiefs.

Jaleel McLaughlin had 6 carries for 19 yards (3.2) & a TD, with a long of 5.

38 rushing yards on 14 carries (2.7 YPC) tonight.

Broncos miss J.K. Dobbins, who was averaging about yard over expectation per carry

Bo Nix dropped his eyes there. Not at all sure what he was doing stepping up. Bad play on third down.
December 1, 2025 at 3:48 AM
Let me be clear, I'll take the good plays Bo Nix brings to the table for the occasional misfire like that Bobby Wagner pick, especially if he's consistently carrying the offense as he's had to tonight.

That touchdown to Courtland Sutton can't be taught.
December 1, 2025 at 3:47 AM
This play is a textbook example of how pressure impacts Bo Nix. He rushes his process, locks in and can go blind to parts of the field.
