Iceye launched two new satellites. To my understanding these are their first non-polar orbit 🛰️ Inclination was not stated in the press release, but it hints to a 45-deg inclination. With this they can better serve lower latitudes, where most of the 🌍 population lives.

Great write-up about history and development of military uses space. Space has been a military domain from the beginning. One could even argue it was mainly a military domain for the first decades of space age.
In my latest article for @EngelsbergIdeas I explore the key shifts in space security from the Cold War to today. The piece covers the long history of the use of space technologies in conflict from Vietnam to the war in Ukraine.

1/2 Russian SAR-satellite was launched yesterday. Previously Russian SAR-capabilities have been very limited, but now they have launched several new SAR-satellites. This is unfortunate for Ukraine and other western countries as SAR can take images also during the night and through the clouds.
