this dumb shit is what i mean when i say this is a purely aesthetic “politics.” yeah man, why can’t we have a fusion of cosmopolitan social democracy and revanchist hierarchies of wealth and privilege? tough question.
Matt Stoller: “..Trump & Mamdani defeated establishment in their own way, representing hunger of voters on the right & left who want something different. If those sides cd come together.. that would be a sea change in how we organize our political economy”.

Mamdani: I've spoken about --

Omg. Yes this!
Really not tracking the Ryan Lizza stuff (accidentally saw that gross "cheeks" comment).

But just a reminder: We spent much of the election last year distracted with these same people -- it wasn't the best use of our time.

I’m having that thing where you log on to social and everyone is reacting to the new thing but the reactions are vague, aghast, angry enough that you’re struggling to figure out exactly what the new thing is. German must have a word for this.

Seconded.
seeing people confidently stating that Greene is obviously going to run for senate or gov. certainly possible. I mean, the whole thing is a stunner to me. but looking at the statement, the calendar and the year, I'm kind of skeptical about that.

All true. The experience serving drinks every day is so fun & rewarding. Knowing the drinks for regulars, helping newbies make something that tastes like what they get at a gas station, being a fun part of peoples day. It took a lot of mulit-tasking and work. Was totally worth it.
it's not that i ever doubted that being a barista was a skilled position, but my year-long effort to try to produce a half-decent latte at home has convinced me that a good barista is easily more skilled than virtually every c-suite executive on the planet
