The Chancellor's tax rises will be vastly outsized by the cost of covering Bank of England losses.

Reforming our approach to this could free up billions to spend on public services.

A decade of national renewal? Not exactly.

The chancellor's public investment plans don't come close to our historic investment levels.

Underinvestment has left us with sewage in our rivers, constant railway disruptions, crumbling schools and a shortage of hospital beds.

Chancellor Reeves is hell bent on shrinking the nation’s income with tax increases today. She cut the nation’s ability to invest and spend in the 2024 Budget.

Predictably, the budget deficit rose.

In 2024/25 it was 5.3%, up from 4.8% in 2023/24.
