Millions of British homes are owned by corporate landlords.

They make you pay extortionate rent, while they rake in huge profits for their shareholders.

Reform want you pointing the finger at migrants instead of the billionaires.

I'm not sure this makes sense. In 2003, the US was producing much less oil than it was consuming. With shale gas, that's no longer the case. The US doesn't need to invade Venezuela for its oil.
We’re about to invade Venezuela because trump wants their oil. No other reason. The airspace has been cleared. Embassies are being evacuated. Flights are being canceled.

He’s going to kill people for oil.

I find it hard to believe the US would put boots on the ground in Venezuela right now, but if they want to end the American Empire with Iraq 2.0, sure, go ahead, knock yourselves out.

I went to the same shitty private school as this guy and there was loads of racism, misogyny and homophobia there in the late 90s and early 2000s too. The idea it wasn’t even worse in the 70s is idiotic.

When your local council shuts all your libraries next year and the parks fall into disrepair, it will be because they have a legal duty to house homeless people in a city with a gigantic housing crisis, where all the worst accommodation is being rented back to councils by slum landlords.

Nightlife in London is absolutely dying because of the cost of living. In Brixton, some of the biggest pubs like the PoW and Dogstar have closed recently, leaving big holes on high streets. www.brixtonbuzz.com/2025/11/brix...
Brixton’s popular Prince of Wales pub and the Brixton Storeys rooftop club have now closed with immediate effect
In another devastating blow for Brixton’s beleaguered night economy, the Prince of Wales and the Brixton Storeys rooftop venue on Coldharbour Lane have suddenly  closed.

Practically this can't happen now because we have a timid government afraid to do anything radical and it would probably need another referendum in which the country would tear itself apart all over again.

Making these changes retroactively is a fundamentally unethical thing. Moving the goalposts. It’s cheating
At least 160,000 people have been granted refugee status over the past five years. It now seems they are intended to be caught by the Government’s plans to make refugees wait up to 20 years for settlement - even for those just months away from ILR

This will reduce the numbers of foreign students coming to the UK and simply leave a bigger hole in the higher education budget which the government will probably fix with higher student fees for the rest of us.

Applying this to refugees already here self-evidently can't deter them from coming. But it will make their lives harder by prolonging their temporary status, making it harder to get jobs and accommodation and settle down properly. It would be a deliberate anti-integration policy. Why?
The i Paper is reporting that once the changes are brought in, the 20 year route will be applied to refugees who are already here.

I can't over emphasise the level of terror this will cause to our refugee population, and the lack of detail and timescale will make it very difficult to calm nerves.
