A bit late for tdor but reposting Emilia's article anyway, as most cis people have no idea what long, complicated, cruel and arbitrary bureaucratic nightmares their trans friends have to go through just for recognition of who they are

A bit late for tdor but reposting Emilia's article anyway, as most cis people have no idea what long, complicated, cruel and arbitrary bureaucratic nightmares their trans friends have to go through just for recognition of who they are
thinking about old games as cultural and literary artefacts and wondering if people hundreds of years from now will look back at them as bemused at how we invented and mainly used the computer to do spreadsheets etc as we do looking back at writing being invented for inventories and tax records

Randomly noticing today is the feast of St Columbanus of Bobbio. When I explain to most people where my family is from in Italy I say 'oh it's between Parma and Genova' but when I'm talking to medievalists I say 'oh it's between Bobbio and Canossa'

Damn I loved this game - or the whole series and especially no. 2 in it, Star Trail. I spent hours and hours in the 90s working out the pages and pages of stats and fucking up irrevocably before I got the hang of making a playable party. No other game I knew was this complex and I loved it for it...

Damn I loved this game - or the whole series and especially no. 2 in it, Star Trail. when people hear i go to berlin fairly frequently they ask me if i go clubbing. no. i am so taken up with marvelling at the fact the supermarkets are open past 6 on a saturday that i don't need to take drugs and dance like a maniac for hours to have my mind totally blown
