Stop trying to make "Web 3.0" happen. It's not going to happen.

I swear these deepfake Kalshi ads are multiplying of their own accord.

Their claim is you're "trading the future". That's not trading. It's gambling on real world events.

Also "legal in all 50 states" should not be an overt selling point. I wonder what an adult-run FTC would have to say about it.

Podcast idea: I start therapy to address my crippling social anxiety and lack of self-confidence, gradually transitioning into dipping my toe into playing BattleTech with my fellow humans.

BattleTherapy.

I just need to get over my anxiety enough to start therapy.

If my 9yo's claim is to be believed at face value, she just independently read 126 pages of a preteen-oriented graphic novel in 10 minutes.

She says it makes her stomach feel funny, which is what I assume happens when your eyes are darting from panel to panel at the speed of thought.

It's a wonderful feeling to be wanted, especially as a parent.

It would be nice, however, to not be *needed* by every member of the household for, like, 5 minutes.

The full collection of @oneshotrpg.bsky.social's Ultimate RPG Guides.

Or Carl Sagan's The Demon-Haunted World.
omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

Some of the games at the top of my Steam Wishlist are the cheapest they've ever been.

At a time when my budget has to be as tight as possible with little room for new games.

Adulting, everyone. Ain't it grand?

I'm at the Laundromat with my 6yo in tow because the dryer's on the fritz again.

The TV is set to the country music station.

3 of the last 5 songs were explicitly about trucks.

The Kids profile on my Netflix account is set to allow up to PG rated content.

My daughter found an anime on their called "Komi Can't Communicate".

30 seconds of self-fondling and sexually explicit dialog told me this was very much not a PG-level program.

Do better, Netflix.

Kalshi, an app that allows anyone with a smartphone to easily place real-money bets on real-world events, being advertised exclusively by AI deepfake slop, has got to be the most late-stage capitalism thing that ever late-stage capitalismed.

I'm less than an hour from Philly. I sure wish I had more money and less social anxiety so I could attend #PAXUnplugged.

Also some free time would be nice.

Since they were babies, part of my kids' bedtime routine was me staying with them at night and singing to them or playing music for them as I rock them to sleep. As they've gotten older, it's evolved into me putting on one of a selection of playlists as I hang out and they fall asleep.

I found a salamander while cleaning the leaves of the sidewalk in front of the house. I gently relocated him under the neighbor's porch, but it made me think of Smoking Salamander Games and the rules-lite RPG they created, Tiny Dungeon.

A recent episode of @skeptoid.bsky.social mentioned "Weird Appalachia", which made me remember that I hadn't yet caught up with @oldgodspod.bsky.social . So I went to the feed for the latter to see how far behind I was now.

2 years.

Better get poppin' up some popcorn, family.

btw conventional games marketing wisdom says block game will never get a lick of press because i'm developing it out in the open and anything that's public knowledge is not news so that means for it to go anywhere it has to have strong word of mouth

so uh, tell your friends? enikofox.com/blockgame

SMG4, source of schizophrenic Brainrot videos starring characters stolen from IP across the entertainment spectrum, is ending as a channel. It's one of the first channels I blocked from my kids' YT Kids feed and one of the most requested when they visit their cousin who's allowed to raw-dog YouTube.

"We can grow as a company, but to do so you must march in lock-step and give the billionaire more money."

Why am I seeing this ad? I don't own any Tesla stock. The closest I get is occasionally chuckling at posts from r/cyberstuck.

I get that every entertainment has its audience, but of all the things the Internet has wrought in my lifetime, watching other people open TCG booster packs *for their monetary value* has got to be the dumbest, most late-stage capitalism thing imaginable. It's essentially watching someone play slots
