Ukraine has earned the right to shape its own future. Washington and Moscow are denying it that right. My OpEd in the Globe and Mail
Opinion: Ukraine has earned the right to shape its own future. Washington and Moscow are denying it that right
The ‘peace process’ is barrelling out of Kyiv’s control, and that is a serious problem for a sclerotic Europe and democracy at large

Nurses are heroes, beyond "professional."
Previously, graduate students could borrow federal loans up to the cost of their degree, but under the new proposal, there would be caps on loans based on whether students are enrolled in a program that is considered professional or not.

He needs to spend some time in Kyiv with Zelenskyy. If he ultimately can't help with the war, it'd still make a better man of him.

Provided he isn't spying for ru.

T: maybe, I won W. V. by a lot

R: you vetted this guy

Happy day with all my pups. My little girl was an angel as always. My girl-pup I sat went for a BIG WALK with me and was flawless on leash. For a rescue, barely over a year, she's impressive. My other girl-pups were so happy and have full tummies. Washed all the bowls, tucked them in for the night.🐾

“It seems ridiculous to have to say this, but digital distraction is terrible for academic performance. The more time college students spent doing something else on their laptops during class, the lower their exam scores, even after accounting for academic ability.”

Psychologists say taking the time to thank ourselves for the qualities that carried us through life can be healthy and important, even if doing it feels awkward.
Remember to give thanks to yourself during the holidays and beyond
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we have to be grateful for. The list often includes the loved ones, food and shelter that may surround us during the holidays.

On this Thanksgiving Day, advice columnist R. Eric Thomas reminds us that it's "really, really important to make gratitude an active practice" in our lives.

During his conversation with @amnanawaz.bsky.social, he shares what that means.

Leftovers
"You don’t have to get stuck in a cycle of nuke and repeat," Samantha Presnal wrote for The Conversation in 2019. "This Thanksgiving, take inspiration from the French, who saw leftovers as an outlet for creativity." https://to.pbs.org/3GmEDom
Unsure what to do with your Thanksgiving leftovers? Look to the French
Over the years "leftovers" have made the leap from insipid plates for the lower classes to inspired dishes perfected by culinary artists.

THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.
