Meanwhile, my mom group chat is now sharing all the incidents of day care raids that happened in Minneapolis and Saint Paul today and yesterday.

And this morning fellow moms at my kid’s elementary began mobilizing to help our members of our school community living in fear.
I don’t know what sense to make of any of this but it’s making me so emotional.

I've enjoyed reading various definitions of slop, the word of the year according to Merriam-Webster. But they all focus on its attributes, which misses the resignation to a cynical instrumentality that I think explains why many people find slop repulsive
