The world’s smallest man:

“The person who actually got the Nobel Prize called me and said that she was accepting it in honor of me.

“I did not say then "give it to me." I think she might have, she was very nice.

“I have been helping her along the way, they need a lot of help.

Farage says he’s stunned that ex Reform Wales leader Nathan Gill took bribes from Russia.. I bet he is

He no doubt thought he was the only one Putin was wedging up, his ego wouldn’t entertain anyone else getting a piece of the action❗️

On #BBCQT - Fiona Bruce said that the audience and public didn't want to press Reform UK on their dodgy links to Russia.

I disagree.

RT if you agree it's in the public interest for Reform to explain about their links to Russian money and bribery!

Rep. Buddy Carter: "Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. That's why I'm introducing a resolution today that will honor him with the Nobel Peace Prize."

We found that the UK’s top scientific institutions, from the Met Office to the UK Health Security Agency, have inadequate institutional defences.

If an incoming government wanted to weaken the role of science and evidence in policy making, it could do so shockingly fast. 2/11

Prince William attending Cop30 is A. Very. Good. Thing. It's likely that him going will persuade Keir Starmer, who is reportedly wavering, to do the same. If this Cop fails, as is all too likely, humanity will fail with it ☠️

It's crucial world leaders attend.

Not quite

Authoritarian leaders tend not to be good at thinking or formulating policy. Some of them do so deliberately so as not to leave a trace

They'll sit around and spout thoughts, and their lieutenants will fill in the gaps

That's how the Final Solution was designed

I can't help thinking that if the 'politically ignorant' facilitate Farage at the next GE, he would do exactly the same with UK bodies, as #Trump has tried to do with bls.gov and the Fed. 😬

The UK’s independent scientific bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation - over the past 5 months I've been working with @martinmckee.bsky.social to map out their vulnerabilities and it's not good news.

Interesting and troubling report/thread here on vulnerability of scientific bodies to politicisation, something the public do not want and is not in there interest but could happen nonetheless if politicians with selective or hostile views on science and evidence were in charge
