One thing I believe, as a white person, is far too many white people forget the debt that activism in the US owes generally to the Civil Rights movement, and how much the instruments of power that Stephen Miller is trying to extend across the country are those of Jim Crow.

My job (I’m an epidemiologist) is no longer relying upon federal rates but switching to state registries for comparison disease tracking. But states like Louisiana and Florida are also unreliable.
