I hear this one. I was a prolific reader earlier in life before smartphones. I had to force myself to not pick up my phone when I woke up and now I enjoy that 30 minutes of reading a book with my morning coffee. The news and social media will be there later in the day.
I feel like we haven’t fully reckoned with the with the implications of the reality that in the past generation, many have lost the ability to concentrate long enough to read a book.
