So many people willing to blame religion for the US’s ills (and it plays a role there’s no question) but a lot of those same people won’t investigate the role of individualism to the detriment of the collective - which is a related, but more pervasive issue

To quote Heath Ledger's Joker: "If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all 'part of the plan'. But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds!"
"I didn't hear about it in the news."

Tch- you think the news reports on the deaths of "insignificant" people unless it's part of a highly visible event? That's cute, cupcake.
I once had a friend who denied that this actually happened a few years ago to a homeless man in Kansas City because he didn't hear about it in the news. Not sure why he thought anyone could not die when the wind chills were -20°s.

We had a freak heatwave in the summer of 2021. An order of magnitude more people died in that heatwave than in the wildfires the previous year that burned small towns to the ground.

LISTEN: There are a lot of folks out here working tirelessly to get the truth out there. Replying to us that nothing matters because there'll be no consequences is not only incorrect, but it belittles the work we do. It's insulting and shortsighted. Stop following us if you don't want the info.

Anything that tries to vilify any sexual behavior that ISN'T predatory is, in itself, predatory. Pleasure isn't the problem. And in fact, a lot of people find it HARDER to resist "forbidden" pleasure when forbidding it doesn't make sense.
Good time to remind everyone that "no fap" and similar anti masturbation pushes are — and this is not hyperbole — literal Third Reich Nazi propaganda that was digested through the bowels of 4chan and shat out in its current form.
Alexander Rhodes, founder of NoFap, the much-maligned anti-masturbation group, has filed suit against researchers he claims are part of a vast conspiracy to defame him, along with Aylo, owner of Pornhub, and 150-year-old peer-reviewed scientific journal Taylor & Francis.

It also adds to the sense of entitlement that a lot of people, especially cishet men, have about their relationship partner. "I have a boner and you're the only one who can help me with it."

Which also is a form of offloading emotional labor onto the partner. Sure, ideally you have similar levels of interest in getting laid, but the moment you make it someone else's CHORE, they're not gonna be nearly as interested.

Idk if this is a reach, but i heard that shaming men into celibacy and causing them sexual frustration is actually really helpful for the ruling class. They can then manipulate these frustated men into releasing their aggression in things like war or state violence (ie. ICE)

During freezing temperatures in Port Arthur, Texas, a 61-year-old homeless man was found dead in his wheelchair outside a convenience store.

He was wearing a hospital gown and no shoes. Authorities say he had been released from a hospital the previous day.

This is a diseased society.
