Life-long liberal. Gen X mom. HR Exec by day. In my off time you will find me curled up with a good book or planning a vacation. California raised, now in Seattle suburbs.
I’m trying to get my gift wrapping done before my kid comes home from school tomorrow.

Every year I say I’m not using gift bags, then halfway through wrapping, I give up and start stuffing things in bags willy nilly.

There isn’t much for our Supreme Court to hear, the Constitution is already clear. And just to be absolutely clear: the Supreme Court does not have the power to overrule or rewrite our Constitution.

On Hakeem Jeffries:
"First, the man gave Trump credit for “securing the border.” Then, he praised Trump for pardoning corrupt Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar, who had been indicted on charges of accepting $600,000 in bribes."

Can someone get my eyes for me? They rolled right out of my head.
FIFA is a joke. We were going to spend thousands to attend the world cup when it comes to Seattle. Now, we will spend that money on a vacation outside of the country.

What in the hell are they thinking?

It costs THOUSANDS to renounce your citizenship, are they going to waive that?
And the country would lose billions in tax revenue.

This bill is a sham that will never pass, but it whips the white nationalists into a frenzy.
Karoline Leavitt: “You’re either a U.S. citizen or not — You can’t be a U.S. citizen & a citizen of another country”

The Supreme Court thought differently as it ruled in 1967 that the government can’t strip U.S. citizenship unless a person voluntarily relinquishes it - not that they care

How many more countries will stand up?
Ireland, Spain, Netherlands, Slovenia to boycott Eurovision.

65% voted in favour of changes to public voting system to be enough to address disquiet over Israeli "public" support. So there was no vote on opposition on the grounds of war in Gaza

Today's read:

The Fix by Mia Sheridan

I'm about 20% in and it's both disturbing and thrilling.
It includes scenes of SA of minors (not graphic, but you know it happens) and murder, so be forewarned if those are an issue for you.

If you have spent any time in Zurich, I would love a recommendation. We have 24 hours in Zurich and need a dinner restaurant. I would love for it to be local cuisine, but share your favorites!

Starbucks is insane. Their CEO pay is up 592% while worker pay rose 3.2%.
There is NO justification for that. None.

This would absolutely be the push we need to leave this country. No way in hell would we give up our dual citizenship.
It’s also very expensive to renounce your US citizenship and the US would lose SO much tax revenue from dual citizens living abroad.

The number of people replying to this post saying people are lying about reading this much is WILD.
If you read just an hour a day, you can easily read 2 books a week. That’s one tv show a day.
How is that so hard to believe?
How y’all reading a 100 books a year? That’s amazing.
