It's all bullshit, of course. Russia has zero intention to relinquish any territory it occupies in Ukraine. Quite the opposite: Russia feels entitled to occupy more. And it will not stop there. It plans on using occupied territory as a springboard to invade deeper into Ukraine and beyond.

In fact, the camera IS an IR sensor. Manufacturers just put a filter in front of it to filter out infrared and that allows for only light in the visible spectrum to hit the sensor. But to make it an IR camera so that it can "see at night", only requires opening the camera and removing filter...

I can't imagine why this dipshit POTUS is in any way supporting Russia. There's no amount of money or kompromat to make it worth it.
That said, if you're in an area with a lot of drone activity, driving at night without headlights probably isn't helping as much as you think. They have IR sensors.
