Alexandria’s DASH bus system is carrying 40% more passengers than in 2019, Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley reported Wednesday, part of a regional transit surge that has pushed ridership well beyond pre-pandemic levels.

I do love font-based journalism.
The font would appear to be English 111 Adagio CE, available for the highly presidential sum of just $39.75 USD

Note "The" is not kerned correctly

(see perspective-corrected still for reference)

Guys I have good news.

The official Evil Urbanist Agenda for Alexandria is out in convenient desk-calendar form (but I swear if any of you shows Bill I will block you).

I keep periodically looking at the State Navigate spreadsheet turnout reports like I know anything and just keep saying this:

I voted in person this morning, largely because my 4 year old wanted to know about “boteing”. She recommends choosing her as our leader, by the way. I ended up having to vote provisional because I forgot to bring my mail ballot to surrender 🤦‍♀️

This is my annual Halloween reminder that where I grew up (Des Moines) “Halloween” was two separate days of events. You had the 31st, Halloween itself, that had school parties and was generally the day that adults were going out to parties/bars.

The kids had Beggar’s Night.

My 80 year old dad is out protesting today.

Eighty.

Hanging out with all his sept/octagenarian mall walking buddies at the state capitol.

And if that wasn’t the shot in the arm I needed.

Come over to our club, Shutdown Watch. We have everything:

- existential dread
- a case of Surfsides and a pasta bake that stayed cold in the fridge despite the power outage

Back in my teenage years, being involved in the UN and working in international diplomacy was a real goal of mine. The idea of ever being able to stand in front of that body and speak was mind boggling.

This wouldn't pass muster at even a junior high Model UN. My god.

So I noticed that the BIBA page had vanished from my links on FB. I assumed it might be related to something similar being said in the news and a possible page timeout, but it's not back yet. (This was before I made any stickers.)

Out of morbid curiosity, does anybody know what's up?
