So the power of the purse no longer lies with Congress, as delegated by the US Constitution?

... Which amendment did we ratify that agreed to this? Because Article 1 is first for a reason, and it is utterly unambiguous.

I wonder if we'll get a sick name like Nuremberg? I wouldn't mind if it was one of the hardcase Chicago neighborhoods that they're currently brutalizing.

The Back-of-the-Yards Trials has a ring to it.

“The Defense Department has confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America,” the Pentagon Press Association said

Oct. 15, 2025
PENTAGON PRESS ASSOCIATION
STATEMENT
Today, the Defense Department confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America. It did this because reporters would not sign onto a new media policy over its implicit threat of criminalizing national security reporting and exposing those who sign it to potential prosecution.
The Pentagon Press Association's members are still committed to reporting on the U.S. military. But make no mistake, today, Oct. 15, 2025 is a dark day for press freedom that raises concerns about a weakening U.S. commitment to transparency in governance, to public accountability at the Pentagon and to free speech for all.

Locking in for oral arguments on the big voting rights case at the Supreme Court.

The next two hours or so will be... incredibly bad.

Gavin Newsome should take notes, this is how you do "reach across the aisle" podcast appearances.

ICE is recklessly throwing tear gas into our neighborhoods and busy streets, including near children at school and CPD officers.

The Trump Administration must stop their deployment of dangerous chemical weapons into the air of peaceful American communities.

"He became a firsthand witness to ICE raids" - that's rather dramatically underselling his role in the ICE raids he attended.

He was embedded with ICE, at their invitation, and for his financial gain.

Once upon a time, those were not described as witnesses, those were 'collaborators.'

As a blanket statement, Chicago Public Schools will not communicate/coordinate with federal representatives without a signed warrant forcing them to.

That's wild. The federal government is such a clown-show, it isn't allowed within 100 yards of children (for the best, with the Epstein situation).

ICE spotted near Kenwood Academy today.
Dear Kenwood Parents and Guardians,
The safety of our students is my top priority, which is why I am writing to address a situation that occurred near our school this morning. We have received reports of federal law enforcement activity in the neighborhood near our school building today.
We immediately shared these reports with the CPS
Office of Safety and Security, and this team reached out to the Chicago Police Department (CPD) for more information. All members of our school community are safe. Today's school day proceeded smoothly and as planned.
I want to emphasize that school is the best and safest place for our students. Our staff is well-versed in the proper protocols for keeping our students and school community safe in case federal law enforcement representatives attempt to enter school property or interact with students or staff. As a reminder, our school and CPS WILL NOT coordinate with federal representatives, and we WILL NOT allow ICE agents or any other federal representatives access to our school unless they produce a criminal judicial warrant signed by a federal judge. I also want to remind you that CPS created a resource packet (English I Spanish) that includes guidance on the following topics:

The next question starting with "Congratulations, Mr. President" from one of the court jester is a little "on the nose" for the general vibe in Caligula's court.

Abandoned... 3 years ago. Last I heard, test mules have been spotted.

Here, this article with a shitty AI-generated mockup of something with garbled sort-of-Rivian-esque branding on it explains:

The auto news space is so garbage XD

Well, this makes me want to cry.

Anyone notice how the ICE agents are particularly physically violent to women in the arrest videos? The menace aspect is not lost on me.

"During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she 'doesn’t look like' a Greeley."

www.yahoo.com/news/article...
Chicago Tribune: Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

We're engaging in international piracy of the same type as compelled us to *found our own navy* to fight off the Barbary coast.

There is no statute of limitations on this stuff. Under the next administration, the chain of command is going to have some spicy talks under oath.

Getting up and shouting at a protestor who is obviously progressive is definitely *a* take you can have as an elected official for the nominally progressive party.

Bold play. Let's see how she does (loses again i bet LOL).

I mean, in the internal combustion segment, pickup trucks are consistently the top sellers (and they're environmentally devastating).

Makes a lot of sense to focus on electrifying that segment, all the options just suck right now (F-150 Lightning/Riv R1T too costly for most, Cybertruck's a joke).

Signs popping up in Chicago.

No shirt, no shoes, *no ICE agents.*

Business owners can tell ICE to eff right off, and sure enough, they're doing that in droves. I've seen two today at my local stores:
everyone is welcome here except ICE
