Train services have often been affected by industrial action, as today's #Railway200 post shows: the number of trains between Clay Cross and Ashover run by the Ashover Light Railway were reduced during the coal strike of 1926.

Quite the surprise beyond the front door of this 1970s time capsule in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. An interior pretty much untouched in 50 years, and also one of the cheapest houses I have featured on the site. bit.ly/4nRz8Bf

Storm Amy on her way out. Heavy winds/rain but no damage. Beach clean tomorrow at Grebe and Durgan. Westerly winds, so hopefully not too much crap to pick up. Lucky compared to other parts of the world dealing with weather patterns.

Lincoln’s Newport Arch was built by the Romans in the 3rd century and is still very much in use by vehicles today, some 1,800 years later- this is pretty amazing!

Architect Terry Farrell, best-known for the postmodern MI6, died recently. My favorite building is his KK100 skyscraper, which is the world's tallest building by a British #architect.

Modern high-rise skyscraper with a twisting glass and metal facade, curving dramatically at the base. The building features a geometric canopy with lights, surrounded by trees, other buildings, and a paved street with road markings.
