A reminder.

Humanity has never removed an atmospheric pollutant at a global, continental or, even, regional scale — we have only ever shut down the source and let nature do the clearing up. This is the case for chlorofluorocarbons and stratospheric ozone destruction, for sulfur dioxide and acid rain, and for sulfur and nitrogen oxides and photochemical smog. We must be prepared for CDR to be a failure, leaving us to rely on the environment to stabilize atmospheric CO₂ over thousands of years. This is another argument for rapid decarbonization.

Loved the clip of @albomp.bsky.social advocating for strong FOI. Reminds me where as founder of Parliamentary Friends of Palestine, he was speaking out strongly for them. Also remember him campaigning in '22 on a NACC "with teeth"! Shocked to find out he meant absolutely none of it. #auspol

Not just allergic to accountability, but action for good. I’m really struggling to think of anything notable they’ve done for the average person, or even the poor, who should be Labor’s primary focus. Instead we have a govt of big business & outrageous sycophancy to US. Such a wasted opportunity.
