I have a new poem out this week in On Gaia Literary Magazine. "Totem" was a difficult poem to write and to release into the world as it speaks to painful childhood moments that I was good at masking with a smile.

For the 1st time, I hosted an online co-writing session for my music history students who are working on a research paper. I scheduled it during the usual meeting time. It went really well. I might offer a voluntary evening session as well. Always looking for new pedagogical tools. #Academicsky
I just read these two fabulous short stories: "Prayer in the Furnace" by Paul Klay and "Ordinary Sins" by Kirstin Valdez Quade. There is great commentary on them and other Catholic literary works in Brent Little's Art and Imagination.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this right now. It's so hard. I get triggered so often and it hits my PTSD and causes pain too.

Saddened to hear of the death of the great Dame Patricia Routledge. Thank you for the laughs and great characters. Keep answering that slimline phone, Hyacinth Bucket (Bouquet).
Grateful and delighted for my micro essay "Anthurium" published by Libre to receive a nomination for Best of the Net. You can read it here.

One of the reasons that art endures is because it has timeless messages that continue to speak to us. The prints of Kollwitz and their meanings about the dangers of hate are as relevant today as ever. I hope you find meaning in reading about these prints.

I'm excited to have my poem "Memento Mori" published this week by Phil Lit. It's a slightly creepy poem about pianos and metronomes. Enjoy, and please read the entire wonderful issue at simplebooklet.com/phillitfall2...
I fell prey to one of the oldest scams: I'll get gas in the morning.
If you watched this in church youth group, I hope, like me, that you have a good therapist.
Cue the song, "We wish we'd all been ready."
I saw enough films in youth group to be a good target for this joke.
I love that and the entire poem.
