somebody new bought our Gulf Shores AirB&B. last lady who owned it, while extremely sweet was very religious and she had bibles and crosses (tastefully done) everywhere. she said “god bless” constantly, we had to lie and say we were married (just in case)

SO the people who bought it are FREAKS:

Dont forget that Indian food is totally disgusting and nobody eats it

If you aren’t comfortable around minority culture, thats a you white man thing, and truly it’s not our problem. You could try harder, but that requires introspection so it’s easier to project like this, I totally get it
In the real world, having the right positions - and Harris, I thought, gave a good convention speech - does not make you a good candidate. There's a certain kind of progressive who thinks that elections are a chance to make Americans eat their vegetables, whether they like it or not.
Every person who says 'Harris was a terrible candidate' not only ignored her commitment to democracy, Ukraine, the ACA, but also reproductive rights and decency.

But a Republican operative like Eric Owens isn't going to look at an Insurrectionist who sold out Ukraine and see problems.

Why is it w/these guys that “Harris was a terrible candidate” & not “Christ, this country is full of more white nationalists who want to burn this country down than I realized” Maybe, Sir, it’s not a Harris problem. Maybe it’s a rise in fascism problem. Or does that require too much introspection?
Harris was a terrible candidate. Biden was dumb to pick her as vice president, and just selfishly awful to dawdle until Democrats believed they had no choice but to run Harris as an emergency candidate in 2024.

No votes were suppressed. Voters preferred Trump. Democrats must change, hard.

The sharp decline in US teenagers’ aspiration to get married and have kids…

…is happening almost entirely among girls, not boys.

At some point maybe men will start trying harder to understand that.

You can know a lot about a liberal, leftist, or centrist by whether they see Black voters as a burden or a boon
I just read a lament, re: the laborious, nettlesome burden of keeping Black voters motivated to turn out, that the Dem coalition relies “on placating a group that is 13% of the population.”

Just do the math, it went on — which makes one wonder: doesn’t “the math” involve counting to 50? Hello?

Again, the answer comes down to boredom. The number of Americans who have never sacrificed, have never had anything asked of them of substance, simply didn't believe it mattered who was the president of the United States. They figured, what the hell, let's give Trump another try, he talks a big game

This thread is so full mediocre white boys venting and bitching. And comments are turned off for me. Bunch of cowards. I probably should mute it bc it’s just pissing me off. Impotent men and all they can do is yap away
You don't lose millions of voters from 2020 to 2024 during the time you're in power, no less - because of suppression. It's a comforting rationalization, but it's not true.

I’ve read every explanation possible for the loss in 24 & the one that makes the most sense is the one you laid out in “Our Own Worst Enemy”. We are a bored, lazy, privileged, jaded society. I’m Gen X & we in particular have never had to engage in any hard sacrifice yet we are the most angry.

It’s very important, white men, that you don’t say dumb shit like this because women are tired of centering you cowards. turning off the comments to complain that you aren’t being babied, does in fact, make you a baby

My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess

The way the Kennedys completely disavow this man publicly means something, and they don’t mince words

The Kennedys do not want to have to do this
