I had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, Nobel Laureate and "Godfather of AI" on one of the most important topics of our time: AI risk, the future of work, UBI, and the path forward for humanity x superintelligence

Unfortunately bluesky doesn't do long videos. Link below to our talk

Another reason UBI is pro-humanity

Unleash true human potential in the arts and innovation
Ireland's basic income pilot for artists worked so well they made it permanent. The economic growth it generated paid back more than its net cost, study shows.

How many people are being held back from their potential because they're living bill-to-bill? UBI is true freedom.

As a classically trained musician

I will never forget seeing my classmate working at the Starbucks across from the Royal Conservatory, when I had the privilege of fully devoting myself to practice and study thanks to a safety net my family provided

Cathie Wood of ARK said youth unemployment will improve as people "go for it" and start businesses with AI

We should all be for lowering the barrier to innovation

But there's a critical unspoken element: entrepreneurs need economic security to take long-term risk, security that UBI provides

Canada's food inflation is TWICE that of the US

We're leading in many things including food, housing costs, and productivity decline

Grocery & Essentials Benefit is a small step, but more needs to be done to tackle the root causes

A livable income floor at least lets people put food on the table

UBI and AI advancement are symbiotic

It doesn't have to be doom and gloom

It can be hyperabundance, but we have to share the gains properly

Lots of sentiment around taking the economic boot off people's necks living bill to bill

People wanna contribute, but they don't want to "toil"

Economists generally will agree that a well-designed basic income can support workers without major disincentives.

No study on UBI has shown a meaningful drop in employment, beyond students and new parents. We want those people to focus on school and raising the next gen.

Hopefully this helps normalize political support for UBI.
