Need a PS5 rec. I tend to like open worlds, 3rd person, custom cvharacters and complex storytelling. Lean more sci-fi than fantasy. I love Horizon Zero Dawn, Mass Effect, Alien Isolation, Control, Bioshock, LoU2. Just tried Hell Is Us and it wasn't for me.

Then, last night we rewatched Insidious, another one from James Wan. This one hasn't aged as well. It felt more gimmicky and some of the acting feels a little less than convincing. While I appreciate the ending and the film still has some good moments, I probably won't revisit this one again.

Two nights ago, I rewatched The Conjuring. I like that Wan moved away from gore and embraced 70s style horror. There's so much of films like The Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, and The Shining in this film. It's pretty solid and the clapping game was creepy af.

Near Dark from '87 was my horror watch last night. Some great stuff in this one from Kathryn Bigelow and half the cast of Aliens. Feels a little dated now and looks like a made for TV movie. But it has charm and heart, and Bill Paxton just chews up the scenery.
