As a white American woman, I always enjoy hearing white Republican men accuse men in *other* regions of "not respecting women." I won't apologize on his behalf because he's not sorry and I've done nothing wrong, but fuck this attitude. Western misogyny is just as bad if not worse than "elsewhere".

MAGA is using the word "crime" and "criminal" interchangeably with "sin" and "sinner", in that the "sin"/crime is in the eyes of the beholder, not a specific act written in statute. Due process, equality in the eyes of the law, even the fact of the law, is irrelevant.

Our vacation house had a party line well into the 1980s on account of it being in a vacation community. According to my mother, the party line all thru the christmas break was free entertainment if you needed a break from our family drama and wanted to eavesdrop someone else's.

As someone who composes and reads govt reports as part of my job, I'm 100% convinced that 'reports' is actually a cargo cult we are all still engaging, both in the sense of the utter futility of the actions, and in the sense that we are still enacting stuff they did just to win WWII.

*67,000 thousand that we know of. Lots of people are buried in the rubble and never "counted" but are just as much victims of the genocide. Part of why Israel is bulldozing the rubble as they force refugees to move around. Burying the evidence and insisting they were never there.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.
