It's working within limits that fuels creativity, and this whole "limitless potential for people who wanted to be creative but couldn't" sales pitch AI gives itself fundamentally misunderstands what creativity is/does, and i think i think that's so demonstrable in anything "creative" it approximates

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.

Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

I think we like to believe that manipulative means a person has some hidden genius becayse it is frankly embarassing to realize you can get badly hurt hy someone dumb, but once you gwt over that, it gets so much easier to recognize bullshit where you see it

I saw a flyer for "affordable artist studios" that were $950 in denver. Sadly, $950 seems like the lower end for rent in denver currently but calling that affordable is like calling a cow a hamburger. Lot of steps before you get there.

Also, advertising it for artists is another level of cruel-
