My favorite recent discovery is New Orleans band Twisted Teens. They deal in brew of garagey rock with pedal steel adding wonderful twang to their infectious brew with hints of power pop, too.

My dad and my sister's cat had a tradition of having coffee together in the afternoon. He'd make himself a cup of instant for himself and pour the cat some water in a coffee cup and they'd just hang out in the kitchen together like that.
