@kimjohnsonmp.bsky.social
Labour Member of Parliament for Liverpool Riverside🌹
Visited Liverpool Crown Court as part of a Court Constituency Day with @thebarcouncil.bsky.social.

Message was clear: scrapping jury trials won’t fix delays. Liverpool’s low backlog & strong workplace culture show what’s possible & what should be replicated nationally.

Music venues and recording studios are the backbone of our world-leading music sector - and nowhere is that truer than here in Liverpool.

If we want the next generation of British artists to thrive, we must protect the spaces where music is made and performed 🎶
Today we expect news on business rates for pubs & hospitality – but music venues and studios must not be overlooked.

I’ve coordinated a letter from Labour MPs urging the Chancellor to act before rises force closures.

For British artists to thrive, we must protect where music is made. 🎶

Today we stop to remember all those murdered, tortured and persecuted by the Nazis during the Holocaust and in subsequent genocides.

We must actively challenge hatred, prejudice and racism wherever we encounter them. We must always speak out against genocide.
