It's neat that former students have stayed in touch with me post graduation. It blows that this is often in the form of an email assuring me that they survived the latest mass shooting at their university. There's a reason I tell my students to apply everywhere but the United States and this is it.

Kid has been showing excellent attention to detail. Not only did he predict the clock being broken, but he has also been noticing where the lights are and guessing rightly when that would matter, like Gizmo being in the door above the laundry machine.

Kind of an amusing coincidence that Terminator 2 and the episode of DBZ my son just watched both had a ghost pep talk. That's an interesting trope to be reinforced so acutely in the span of one weekend. Kid is probably going to be expecting ghosts to pop up in media all the time now.
