I never miss the chance to get out knocking on doors!

Thanks to everyone in Bromley Cross who spoke to me 🙌🏼
Division and racism have no place in our country and no one should be made to feel like they don’t belong here because of the colour of their skin.
I was proud to commend the Prime Minister on his strong stance in his speech to Labour Conference a couple of weeks ago and highlight why a particular party opposite does not deserve the chance to govern at Prime Minister’s Questions today 👇🏼
The war must now be brought to an end swiftly, and every effort must be made to honour those commitments alongside the immediate lifting of all restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza.

We must continue to work towards a two-state solution and reaching lasting peace.

Relief will no doubt be felt around the world for a region that has suffered so much for so long, but more so for those held hostage, their families, and the civilian population of Gaza.
Today’s news of a ceasefire deal is extremely welcome.

I know our Prime Minister and UK Ministers have worked tirelessly to allow us to reach this point, and I commend the efforts of our diplomats who have also worked incredibly hard behind the scenes.
Enjoyed a rare pie lunch at the Kitchen & bar at The Octagon Theatre Bolton ❤️

I love being back at home in the constituency and enjoying our amazing food! If you’ve not visited the Octagon’s Kitchen and Bar yet, definitely check it out.

Labour's New Deal for Working People will reform our parental leave system, for better maternity and paternity leave. That's why @kirithentwistle.bsky.social is so excited to see it delivered in full.
The attacks today in Manchester, on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, are truly devastating. There is no justification for this and my heart goes out to all those affected.

We will not let hate, or those who spread it, win.
Happy Rosh Hashanah to all those celebrating in Bolton North East and across the world today.

Shana Tova!
Whilst this is such a big leap forward, I won’t let it stop me from keeping the pressure on our government to go further. This conflict has gone on too long and it must be stopped. Too many innocent lives have been lost and there is still much to do.
I have long campaigned and advocated for the recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state and I know how much of a crucial step this is towards achieving a two state solution and an end to this awful humanitarian crisis and conflict. I am pleased to see our UK government finally take that step.
Today marks an important historical moment as our government formally recognises the State of Palestine 🇵🇸 We held an event in Parliament alongside Ambassador Dr. Husam Zomlot حسام زملط to commemorate this occasion.
The Tories, Lib Dems and Reform shamefully tried to block measures that included:

• Ending exploitative zero hours contracts and fire and rehire practices
• Establishing day one rights for paternity, parental and bereavement leave for millions of workers
• Strengthening statutory sick pay.
Tonight I voted to deliver the biggest upgrade to worker’s rights in a generation.

Tonight, I voted the Employment Rights Bill through to protect workers and to ensure employees are treated fairly, which is more than can be said for opposition parties.

It’s vital that victims & the public see justice being done.

I spoke to @ecourea.bsky.social about this Government’s commitment to restore confidence in our criminal justice system, the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme & Reform’s weakness on law & order ⬇️

Good luck to everyone getting their GCSE results today!
It was good to check out Whalley's Woodland Walk today! A new contemplative space in Little Lever at Moses Gate Country Park to stop, have a breather and reflect.

Green spaces are so important for our mental health, and I’m really pleased to see what the team have been able to deliver.
I was so proud and honoured to have @gm4women2028.bsky.social here in Bolton yesterday, and to meet so many inspiring women.

It was a real celebration of Boltonian Women and important to step back and discuss how far we have come as women, but how much progress is yet to be made.

Nice to meet @kirithentwistle.bsky.social MO for Bolton NW on @boltonfm.com our excellent community radio station. Kirith is doing a great job.
It’s one year since I was given the honour and the privilege to represent Bolton North East in Parliament.

I’ll never stop working hard to be your voice in Westminster, for as long as you continue to give me this honour 🙏
I’m proud to be the 628th woman MP and the first to represent Bolton North East, but we still have further to go in female representation in all levels of politics. I have made it my mission to do what I can to support more women on this journey.
Yesterday we marked 97 years since women won the vote on equal terms with men with a commemorative photocall of women MPs—organised by Centenary Action💜🤍💚

Each MP received a personalised sash by Remake Newport, marking their place in the history of #WomenInParliament.
