Today I’ve designed a night light circuit using a photoresistor and two BC547 transistors. Added a potentiometer to adjust light sensitivity for good measure. Turns out I have a dc charger I don’t use that can supply 5v, so might just use that. Just need a fuse and I’m good to solder :-)

We all make mistakes, and making mistakes ought not be seen as a character flaw…

That said, my math book has a major blunder in it that makes a concept entirely incomprehensible.

The math is correct, but it is hard to follow as they picked the _only_ and worst number for their example. :’)

Ok, I trust mine to protect me too. Which is why I trained it extensively on what the virus looks like so it can handle it.

Committee hearings begin tomorrow.

KOSA is back, along with more than a dozen other bills that will erode free speech and privacy in the name of protecting kids.

Today I derived the formula for what resistance & capacitor value you’d need for a capacitor timing circuit.

Aka, how large does the capacitor and resistor need to be before a capacitor charge / discharge reaches a certain voltage at any time you want.

Gonna make analog delay circuits with this!

Sure, with all the data breaches and privatization of medical industry, why not put a surveillance tool right into your brain that you’ll be spend the rest of your life paying off and may further disable you.

At least communicating with disabled people won’t be inconvenient for non-disabled people.

I appreciate the techniques you used to explain this. I've told people - filling your pool, either with a hydrant or a hose, is the same amount of water. It doesn't matter to the water company how fast you fill it, they only care about the amount of water. That seemed to click.

Doing a cool project at school this week, connecting a solarpanel to a battery charger, lead acid battery and an inverter.

Did some rough math to see how much current the battery will supply with a 500w output load. I have no idea if I did it right, but 40-49A?

Bought a clamp multimeter to verify.

I’m not that old, but I remember when things were less phonified, and it genuinely was a better world overall.

Needing a phone to do the most BASIC of tasks is a liability, and that is regularly weaponized against us. Our whole lives are now dependent on a thing that can be lost or stolen.
Like, I often wish we would ask ourselves whether anyone actually likes this phonified world.

I don't. And we only got here because we tolerated it.

Maybe we shouldn't.
