Sarah Schira of Imagined Landscapes is doing another December Mystery Gnome -- this time it's Gnandad's Grand Adventure. The pattern is on sale right now 40% off. You bet I got it, because I've already ordered my kit. #Knit

Possibly I have more TO friends on this account,so....
I *think* I have a few Toronto friends here -- looking for a good coffee shop/cafe to meet with some friends from Vancouver who are in town. We're in Toronto so rarely I have no idea where would be nice to go. Patio would be nice (I'm still masking cos of health stuff),but anything nice.

Well. Just got a notification that my Shetland Wool Week Annual is on the way. Of course. Just as Canada Post returns to strike. (for the record: I don't object to workers going on strike. I know they're worried. And my SWWA will get here. Eventually.)

Sigh. I bought eyes for the Derpy I'm making for my GD. I bought them and they were sitting here on my desk and now? I'm ready to put eyes on and I cannot find them. I see that Chateau Bornais has ONE set left, and I will be making a bee-line for their booth at the KW Knitters' Fair tomorrow.

I'd subscribed to this channel because there are lots of cool videos, and this one popped up this morning. Crocheted Jasmine Gajra:

Programming worked very hard this year to get us another round of amazing speakers -- I'm so exited to see Sarah Schira kick off the guild year! #Knitsky

Okay there is no brown on these, they’re all just lovely buttery yellow. Costco has boxes of organic Canadian ginger for $9.99, and I dried it. Mostly to add to tea. It was really lovely.

So, I *am* a K-Pop person and I still didn't think the movie was for me. And then discovered my GD was obsessed with it. And told me I should watch it. So we did, and now I'm making her a Derpy for her birthday. Along with some other really good girl-power books for the gift.

Well. Some good came out of the AC strike -- for me. Got a call from the surgeon's office yesterday to say, it's short notice, can you make an appointment tomorrow? I mean, yes? Who turns down a specialist appointment. Found out the reason talking to the doctor.

Because Ignatius Farm is taking a fallow year, I went and looked at a number of places doing farm shares -- found a nice, small, woman-owned farm who was trying out delivery to Guelph. Signed up. Was very happy, but she had to cancel deliveries to Guelph because too few people had joined in.

Yes, of course I pre-ordered a gnome kit. I missed out on the December mystery knit-along last year, and I'm really happy to see a kit available through a LYS and a fave dyer, Feisty Fibres. Yep, I went bold. #knit flyingsquirrelfineyarns.com/products/gna...

Okay, I think I’m officially a crocheter. In other news, avoid the first day of the Mary Maxim tent sale. Especially if you are sick with a miserable cold (yes I was masked, the full force of it only hit after two hours in the line to pay).

Thanks to partner I’m managing to get some things done this summer despite the knee injury. Today: walnut pesto.

My partner is a kind person who donates loads of time and money to others, and one of the things he does is this yearly ride. It's a tough time, I know, but if you can donate, we'd really appreciate it, and if you can't, but you can pass it on, please do.

We went out to the Erin Feast of Fibre this morning, mostly so I could do some door prize shopping for the upcoming @kwknittersguild.bsky.social guild year. Can’t show you the lovely thing I bought but I can share my own purchases.

Knitting/crochet friends: I have an umbrella swift my dad made for me (out of like, popsicle type sticks) and it's starting to fall apart. I would like a sturdy but cost effective one -- preferably under $100, but definitely not one of the cheapo plastic ones. Recommendations? #knit #crochet

The plan is to do a cupboard clean out and reorganization. The knee injury means I’m not able to do that. But we got some nifty containers (Canadian made) and we’re slowly getting things into them.
