By the way: The prosecution made this estimate despite Keller telling the judge that he was still going through discovery in the case.

Keller indicated that the government isn’t prepared to make its first discovery production until Nov. 14, which the judge found…unusual.

I also attended the arraignment this morning.

One of the more surprising moments came when counsel for the prosecution, Roger Keller, estimated that government would call 8-10 witnesses and that the case would take 2 weeks to try.

(The judge said 8-10 witnesses should take 3-5 days.)

This man was part of a coalition of Reagan-era apartheid apologists who opposed U.S. opening talks with the African National Congress which he called a terrorist org. He has been a right wing activist for decades. His son was part of the Jan 6th mob and was convicted (later pardoned by Trump). 1/

The 51-year-old voted for Republican Donald Trump for president last year, something she said she’s almost embarrassed about now that the Republican-led government hasn’t renewed the subsidies that help her afford her coverage through the state marketplace. “I work hard, and I’m trying to survive and do it the right way and pay my way,” Meehan said. “I don’t want free. I just want affordable for my income.”
