at least for text I could see some use for it, maybe extending document editors functionality like MS Word, but people for some reason use it as an oracle of truth, which it very obviously is not

i mean yeah sure ppl used massive a bunch but serum has had a bigger impact overall. even in later synth designs, like vital or pigments, they're very much like serum and not massive
