Turns out I was so strident in my expressing our family's need for the toddler's schooling to be secular, the nursery teacher thought we were JWs....I think we've cleared up that celebrations and knowledge are good, forced prayer bad.

Yep. It's one of the biggest issues we (communities hosting these projects) are having...international corporations are getting waved through planning permission, no benefit to the community, all profits going elsewhere and council have no powers to enforce good behaviour.

Instead, there's the "gifted and talented" programme. Where socially awkward children were separated from their classmates, given extra resources and left to "create". We were told we could change the world, but are mostly undiagnosed autistics who burnt out in our early 20s. 2/2

Yes. You see, wealthy families know their children are genetically superior, because thats why they are wealthy. But, occasionally, a not-wealthy family will have a mutant child that could join them in the upper echelons. Paying to improve public schooling is expensive when you only want a few 1/2

It's frustrating beyond belief to tell your elected reps that a public service that could provide so much help to our village is being neglected, and have them wave you off...as if your village and its people have no value.

Exhausted at so many communities being neglected like this.

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

Immigrants already have these digital ID cards instead of visas...and yes, it took me 2 months to get mine to work because I downloaded the app from the website instead of the app store and put my details in the laptop site.

"Privatization" of vital public services means privatizing profits and socializing losses, so public burden grows because private entities extract value. That's why costs of privatized services inevitably go up as quality of service goes down.

Reform wants to scrap indefinite leave to remain and replace it with 5 year renewable visas which can't be accessed if you ever access benefits.

Basically turning every immigrant in the UK into people vulnerable to exploitation by employers they rely upon to stay in their homes.

I make difficult decisions every day

Like-do I pay £40 to get a taxi to the Dr Surgery or do I put my child on my bike and try to make it there over the 60mph roads. We no longer have a Dr Surgery or Bus in the village because "hard decisions" had to be made, & LDs chose a new council headquarters.
