my take for Scotland is it needs a city council to be a real city
There are only seven cities in England: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds and Newcastle. The other pretenders are just big towns.

Polanski's job is sooo easy... hope, world peace, tax the rich, save public services, save the planet, lets join Europe, let's leave nato, and on and on. It irritates me intensely that the main parties have made it as easy as it is for such a cynical charlatan.

if your job is to inform people about politics and you’ve been extremely wrong about what you’ve been informing them then i think they do deserve a lot of criticism actually
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?
