School shootings certainly weren’t. They were more or less unheard of. Any sort of mass shooting event was in public, I guess?

I don't know if Gen Z or younger realize this, but prior to Columbine (1999), there weren't really mass shootings — like in general. They simply didn't happen.

It's really weird that the NRA's "mass shootings are just a part of the fabric of our freedom" talking point is barely even 25 years old.
