I wonder how they would feel if Brits around the world would get deported back to the U.K. because they are retired and no longer seen as productive in the countries they live? They would have to house at least 4 million baby boomers who have made their retirement homes abroad!

So even though I have lived in the U.K. for more than 30 years and have ILR, the day I claim my state pension or any other benefit which I am legally entitled to, which by the way could be a carers allowance to look after my sick British husband (just to give an example) the Tories would deport me!

I am for an ID card but let’s have a physical one like most EU countries have with a microchip. That will suffice. Not everyone has a smartphone!

It speaks volumes about the dire state of British politics that an MP can say that she gets mad about seeing Black and Asian people in adverts on TV and she hasn't immediately been expelled from her party - a party that hopes to form the next Govt.

I am surprised at U.K. border control at Le Shuttle. They are ok for me to take my grandchildren out of the country without checking my permissions but insist on checking when I bring them back to the UK. I wonder how many children get trafficked out of the country like this and never return? 🥴
