New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.

That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.

Show me a better investment than that.

Wrapping up my 14th trip to Yellowstone National Park, one of my favorite places.

The story of the National Park Service here is one of conservation successes & significant errors & learning from both.

I never fail to be inspired by the wildlife, the geology & the conservation history.

When the dismantlists talk about "trimming the fat" or "bloated" whatever relating to the federal government, remind them that there have been about the same number of federal employees since the 1960s.
Meanwhile US population has increased by ~70% and GDP has increased 29-fold.

Not only serving visitors but managing wildlife populations and habitat, doing cutting edge research and monitoring, providing LE and fire protection to neighboring communities and so much more.
Thank you, DOGE, for clearly visualizing what incredible value the American people get from their national parks. 17,700 permanent employees making an average of $81,000 a year serving 325 million visitors annually.

Is there a better value in the entire federal government?
