Honestly, Dems, I value the party platform of support for working families, protecting public lands, fighting for women's rights, and more. But I am TIRED of the lack of leadership, uncoordinated efforts, and demure push-backs. I want MORE Al Greens, not less.

Fantastic work, Brittany!
I wish the dems would have organized to stand and disrupt, one, by one, by one. Take turns, drag it out, and disrupt the lies!
Democrats need to get their act together, and ORGANIZE! Holding cute signs during the stream of lies of tonight's address fell far short.

💥 BREAKING: At John Deere's annual shareholders meeting today, shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an anti-DEI proposal brought by the same group that targeted Costco and Apple. An anti-DEI proposal from the NCPPR received less than 1 percent of votes.

So.

It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.

I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

Basically, a geopolitical enemy state found a couple of corrupt businessmen in danger of going to prison, and freed both on the condition they wreck the United States.
I appreciate that. Thanks for the reminder.
Pushing back against the dangerous consolidation of power in the executive branch; fighting the patriarchy and dismantling of equity and inclusion efforts - while caring for a loved one with dementia who is also losing the use of their legs, and thus suffering major depression, is exhausting.

Old friend just laid off by USDA, 1 mos short of his probationary period as senior researcher. Brilliant person who left a tenured faculty position several yrs ago to join USDA. Bright early-career researchers also being laid off. USDA is terminating a generation of highly-qualified scientists.

Another damaging firing of a young scientist. Dr. Darling, an MSU Entomology alum, was working to rear parasitoids to control emerald ash borer and other devastating pests of forests and farms. There is no private sector equivalent doing this work, and this loss means less control for these pests l.

Well hello, all. Now seems like as good a time as any to move over here in earnest. And to kick off that move, let's start with a thread documenting the indiscriminate cuts to federal ag and other important areas. capitalpress.com/2025/02/14/u...

24 hour economic blackout, 2/28, all day.

Don't buy. If you must, cash only, and small/local businesses only. No $$ to corporations.

I'm in. How about you?

Stopped by to pass this along. They were expecting 10% for the folk but it's looking like 1-2%. Normal attrition is around 6% at the transition w/quitting/retirement. So had they done NOTHING they likely would have done better. Also, it should cost about $1 billion to pay the 1-2% for those 7 mths.
