Even if I wanted to be on KU, this pirating problem makes me unable to sign up as it would put me at risk of getting banned from Amazon! 🥲 What's going on is really not okay, pirating can 100% ruin an author's career & bar them from opportunities like being in KU.

If I’m not mistaken, and an author is published on kindle unlimited, wouldn’t this make them in breach of their exclusive publishing agreement? Like not only does this take sales from an author, but it could also lead to their books being legitimately removed from where they are published.

I can understand when people pirating stuff from big names and corporate owned IPs.
But if you pirate from indie authors, especially from marginalised communities, and try to put it as revolutionary and anti capitalist - think twice maybe? Do some reevaluation of your morals? Just stop, perhaps?
