In a perfect world we’d take our time with art, stand in front of it, sit with it. Now it’s a 2 second glance and a scroll.

We’ve become to desensitized to really appreciating art and feel so entitled to it now that I think we forget that when artists post their art it typically means a lot, a lot of the time. It takes bravery to show the world your work. It’s not content, it’s creative soul.

Promote other people's work without expectation of anything in return. Community building is found in sharing things you find interesting, and building connections through mutual enjoyment of things. Transactional marketing gives the ick right quick, and people will remember.

I'll say it again, Art is communication.

"Create for yourself" really means "Create art that communicates who you are." And one sided communication feels terrible. Commenting on peoples art/creations can be scary, I get it. But COMMENT. COMMUNICATE. We want to hear it. I want to hear it.
