France vs Ireland. France in better shape but Ireland could pull something out if all their new peeps fire, maybe?

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden.
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

I've told this story on ContrabandCamp but it's worth sharing for BHM because it's one of the greatest stories ever.

I convinced a lot of people to invest their life savings with me except I used all their money to buy myself a leather jacket and a jukebox that only works when I hit it.

I’m now being investigated for running a Fonzi scheme.

Tell me your great three album runs
You ever think about how Arcade Fire made three extremely good albums in a row and then fell of a musical cliff?

Look, these are some of the most wonderful posts, daily. There’s not been a day one of these little slices of Aotearoa life hasn’t raised a smile or an “awww”
🧵Spotted While Roaming in Aotearoa New Zealand:

Two tiny humans (1?) are being carried in different directions down a busy street. Their mums cross paths and Tiny Human Strangers reach out their hands, momentary touching fingers, expressions marvelling at seeing another so small as themselves. (1)

This is an excellent article, and the stuff in the last paragraphs is worth us all fighting for because frankly it makes our bit of the world a better place for all of us and that’s worth changing some 40 year old text for

I'm a woman who's never played Warhammer 40k, and female Custodes make me want to start
If you think that adding tiny plastic women to a wargame like Warhammer 40k doesn't make a difference, I assure you, it really, really does.

I love seeing people see new stuff added to 40k and finding something that personally hooks them in. That's really great to see because it means GW is making the right steps to bring more people into the game.

The scale wars have been won! 28mm is the best, SPQR approved!
‘How often do you think about the Roman Empire?’ is so 2024.

What I want to know is how often did the Roman Empire think about Warhammer.

Pictured is a figurine found from a dig in a Roman cemetery near the A66 by Cotswold Archaeology.

It’s 28mm and on a round base ready for 40k or AOS

What's happening with Cardiff and Ospreys feels like vandalism. Ospreys, in particular, have basically just been told by proxy that they're finishing up. No announcement, no care for the history of the club or what it'll do to people.

Shouldn't be happening.

What is it about the home / justice briefs that attracts raging authoritarians? This is really bad, right?
"When I was in justice, my ultimate vision for that part of the criminal justice system was to achieve, by means of AI and technology, what Jeremy Bentham tried to do with his Panopticon. That is that the eyes of the state can be on you at all times"

The WRU have got this Bristol and England fan fuming. Will keep an eye out, and If Spreys fans or Cardiff fans have a plan that needs bodies I’ll be there
Bloody hell, you know the WRU have utterly fucked it up when Irish Rugby Bluesky is standing in solidarity with Welsh fans. Ridiculous; awful; and just so horribly amateur in every single way. Stay strong, Welsh friends, and give them hell.

So, if you’re Gloucester way back end of April, have a look for some tix!
