First time ever making green bean casserole. Gonna do it from scratch, though! (Except the fried onions. Ain’t nobody got time for that)

The thing I didn’t know about white collar workers until I sojourned amongst them is that they literally don’t work from now until the new year

Which, to be clear, is fine! I just want a society in which the rest of us get summer off

I wasn’t prepared for the irony of having technologically illiterate teenagers

Having been a daily rider for the last 15 yrs it really is a wonder how quickly things have shifted in the last 5 yrs

As a Northeast resident, though, it feels as if the AAA plan has simply pretended we don't exist. Still not a single complete low-stress bikeway in the entire neighborhood

Going to a friend's for dinner on Saturday in the depths of St. Paul. There is pretty much no way to get there safely on a bike. There's nothing like crossing the river to make you appreciate what we've got over here

Sorry, not sorry, StP friends...

🎶 I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats
With scarves of red tied 'round their throats
To keep their little heads from falling in the snow

What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?

Any time I have Laphroaig I think of one of my favorite romantic films, “Like Crazy,” a movie I used to watch during the separation so I could cry

Natch fabrics are handling today’s weather (raining, 42F/6C) with aplomb:
Waxed cotton jacket
Wool Stormy Kromer w/ earflaps
Thick woolen flannel pants
Oiled leather boots

The pants and jacket are dry within 30 mins hung in the room. I’m actually surprised

This, btw, is one of the reasons I will pretty aggressively contest attempts to reinstall the centrality of the Homilies for Anglican doctrine. I do have to wonder if advocates have actually read them...
Gender and class hierarchy are front and central in the homilies, the catechism, & the marriage liturgy. I don't have my resources on hand to really fine tune this but iirc the homily "On Obedience," for instance, has a whole lot to say about not aspiring "beyond one's station" /

Salt and pepper delivered with my steak & ale pie, which on the one hand is rather 1970s, and on the other these peas and carrots are entirely bereft of seasoning..,

The charity shops I’ve stopped at are like the thrift stores of old. Actual 20th century clothes
