It's no secret that I love The Apothecary Diaries, but if I had to boil it down to what made season 2 so good: Shisui, historical inspirations, and JinMao. It's actually pretty hard reviewing anime I can't find flaws with, but I attempted it regardless!

The Summer Hikaru Died is just incredible and only episode two. Three things I want to discuss.

1. The use of Yoshiki's POV is INSANELY effective at conveying just how complicated his feelings are towards "Hikaru". His fear, his affection, his confusion. I FEEL it when watching
