Does AI stand for Asbestos Irritant, because people keep thinking it's good and putting it in things, but it's going to take years to remove it all again and fuck people up along the way?

No actually bc we already know genAI is shit and yet some people still insist on using it 🙃

GIVE ME THIS
(5/5)

LEVEL 7: Sci-fi aliens exhibit a set of genders which appear truly novel, until halfway through the text you suddenly realise that said genders have a 1:1 mapping with "Dungeons & Dragons" character classes.

Love when a bleary 1 am wee turns into an unexpected spider eviction. I swear when I flicked it out the back door, it came racing back towards the house like it was going to come back inside.

Hey, amazing you. Love yourself. Love your friends. Love this beautiful world. Love the stories, the games, the tunes & words that bring you joy.

There's leaves on the trees that only just saw sunlight, a cloudshape that will never be repeated, & a blackbird with a shimmering wing - love it all.

All or nothing, the true lover says, and that's the truth of it. My love will never die, he says. He claims eternity. And rightly. How can it die when it's life itself? What do we know of eternity but the glimpse we get of it when we enter in that bond?

I followed www.cnet.com/tech/service... on turning #Gemini off in #Gmail, but I don't understand why the little 'summarise this email' button is still showing up on individual emails. Plus it's only on one of my Gmail accounts, not both, but they have the same things turned off in settings! Help?!

discovered some life-changing ttrpg tech during friday’s session: after taking a mid session break, before getting back into the scene, do a sports style locker room interview with each player (in character). it’s 1) funny 2) focusing 3) immediately and personally characterizing

I got my copy of @bobbyllew.bsky.social's The Ghost Camera! Looking forward to diving in after I finish off a couple of library books (Steph Tisdell's The Skin I'm In, and Anne Bishop's Turns of Fate).

This is starting to get like universal basic income where every single objective study shows the same result but the people who don't like that result go "uh, well there's just really no way to know"

Does anyone know of email providers without AI? I was going to switch to Proton, but they've just added their new thing, Lumo AI, so I'm considering becoming a pine tree instead, because even being cut down and used for Xmas and then dying slowly on a nature strip would be preferable.

After two false starts and the realisation I perhaps should have begun a little further down on the fabric, I have commenced my first custom pattern cross-stitch. I have only stabbed myself in the finger with the needle once.

Defund the CIA and use the money to make more Muppet retellings of classic literature
production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

As someone who occasionally writes about legends of not-mine cultures, I proactively keep myself in check by reading writings about my culture from the perspective of well-meaning outsiders. Witnessing the scale of confabulation in Western "Polish folklore" books keeps me sharp.
