#MyTaleOfDread Before we even got all the way through Madness, I went out and got a Madness-related tattoo: the blue heartbeat line that Fenly paints in his prologue.

It's not as dope as Pav's though:

Per the first #TalesOfDread KS update, #MyTaleOfDread... well, there are many potential ones, but one freaky IRL tale was when I opened my front door one morning and there was a giant Tower on my front doormat.

Turned out @clericbard.bsky.social had left it there as a present without knocking.

Many years ago I did a show called Sagas of Sundry.

It was immersive horror, great storytelling, and reality show style skill challenges.

Now I want to bring it back, but call it Tales of Dread.

But I need your help. So I'm taking this project to Kickstarter.

I just watched The Long Walk and uh. So. That sure is how they handled the ending, huh.

When Dad died I was depressed and unemployed and I hope he's not in an afterlife somewhere worrying that's still the case. Like I hope that if he's in an afterlife somewhere, they get important family and friends updates, you know?

To be fair, there is gradually less and less of it, but when it comes to biohazard removal, I really do favour the get it over and done with approach.

I wonder how many of these people have a plastic takeaway box in their fridge that they're scared to throw out?

The dead kangaroo that's been lying outside one of the houses on my street for ~5 weeks now has been reported to my local MP, who has passed the information on to my Upper House MP, a rep of whose office left me a voicemail saying it's on their radar.

The dead kangaroo is still THERE, mind you.

The dead kangaroo that's been lying outside one of the houses on my street for ~3 weeks now is probably there because when people contact local council, local council sends them on to VicRoads as it's considered a 'main arterial road', and then VicRoads auto-replies saying ...

No worries! Romance is a very broad genre and, while I like those ones myself, there was no guarantee they'd hit for you.

My other thought based on the one that you named was the Phryne Fisher books but I don't recall how much they are romance versus mystery.

I'm part of a writing group that combines the public writing (well, used to) with the recluse aesthetic.

In lieu of a host's cat, I'm listening to everyone, but I'm watching Aabria's face because her reactions are my personal favourite.

Catching up on the first ep of Critical Role campaign four and it's just like a real wake: lovely to see everyone even under the circumstances—oh, that's a LOT of everyone—okay, I'm ready to sidle into a side room with the host's cat, this is too overwhelming, help.

If you like the idea of romance meets reality TV, moments of silly humour and amazing tenderness, and (in book 2) queerness, I recommend Jodi McAlister's Marry Me, Juliet series (jodimcalister.com.au/book-series/...).

I also recommend her An Academic Affair for (intelligent) dumbasses-to-lovers.

In this witty, sparkling series of rom-coms set on the same season of a reality dating show called Marry Me, Juliet, our couples find love in… well, the most likely of places.

My brother's response to hearing that Patricia Routledge had passed away was, 'That's so sad, where do we send the bucket of flowers?' and that's why he's the only person I trust to handle my memorial service because nobody else will be funny enough.

Full disclosure: I had covid once. We're 99.4% sure we can trace it to specific contact. I have not got it at Fringe, MICF, on a train, tram, or bus. I haven't had colds or the flu. It's fabulous to just keep being a bit careful.

I'm one of only two people masked at the venue, and the other one told me it's because otherwise her nose gets cold. Melbourne. MELBOURNE. Since I started masking in 2020 I have literally stopped getting airborne illnesses, and haven't had my annual bout of bronchitis. Mask! It's awesome!

I'm at #MelbourneFringe to see Danielle Walker, #Lush have brought back Demon in the Dark (my favourite soap), and I have my sights set on fancy hot choccy after this when it's got cold. A great start to a weekend.

Feeling nostalgic as we come up to the #SagasOfSundryMadness anniversary? Me too. It's no longer available online, and I haven't heard anything about it resurfacing via official channels.

...UNofficially, though, get in my DMs if you're looking for it. I know an avid archivist.

DREAD | Sagas of Sundry: Dread | Episode 0 (International Tabletop Day)
Taliesin Jaffe (Cayden), Satine Phoenix (Sat), Amy Vorpahl (Darby), Amy Dallen (Raina), and Matthew Mercer (Tanner) are a group of friends who could be considered family. They’ve gone through a lot over the years and always found adventure in one form or another. It’s the 1980s and they’re in the prime of their life but the summer is nearly over and the first year of college is coming. Since not all of them will be going down the same path, the friends have gotten together for one last weekend of camping and memories, DMed by Ivan Van Norman. Dread is a game of horror and hope, in an original macabre tale. A delicate atmosphere is represented by pulling blocks from an oversized Jenga tower. Instead of dice rolls, they pull a block from the tower. This game of Dread was played during the Geek & Sundry International Tabletop Day 2017 stream to support Extra Life.
