this goal had to go up because Chuffed made a massive error and refunded more than £400 which was a huge chunk of this week's goal 😓 now we're really behind

…and we keep going, because this is our duty and our promise. We formed this giving circle with seven friends to ensure dependable, weekly support—for survival needs. As those needs become daily, we escalate.

24 hours left ⚠️ Food, tents, blankets, medicine, ASAP. 0/500: chuffed.org/project/hope...
A square white graphic. On the left is a stylized ink illustration of a kestrel falcon in black on white, without outline just the black marks on its wings and face, drawn from behind. His wings are partly open and his head is turned to the right. In his beak is an anemone poppy in red ink with a green stem. On the right is the title "Keep hope alive: a gaza giving circle" in ink-effect font. The text says "We are a team of volunteers in the US and UK helping our friends on the ground keep their families and neighbors alive with food, water, & shelter. We distribute your contributions equally every week for sustainable support." In the bottom right corner in green text is the link https://tinyurl.com/HopeGivingCircle.

the secret message
spelled in piles of autumn leaves —
once we have fallen
our colors may be even
brighter than before

Big thanks to everyone who shared a WIP yesterday.

First lines. Draft doubts. Wild sparks. We saw it all.

#WednesdayWIPs is back next week. Same time. Same tag.

Keep writing. Keep showing up.

There’s been a rise in shady offers targeting writers, promising glowing book reviews, agent representation, or marketing packages - for a fee.
🚨 If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
✅ Visit Victoria Strauss's Writer Beware website for advice: writerbeware.blog
🔎 3 Tips to Avoid Author Scams:
1️⃣ Never pay for reviews — Legitimate reviews from readers, bloggers, or trade publications are never "guaranteed" or sold.
2️⃣ Be wary of agents who charge upfront fees — Real agents get paid when you get paid.
3️⃣ Research before you sign — Always Google the name + “scam” or check trusted resources.

Leaf and #ash
To rake away
Compost
For
A Tattered heart
Fingers sift
Detritus
Hoping
For fragments
To catch
By the thread
Thoughts
Unraveling
Life in free fall
A black smear
Of fingerprints
Wrapped
Around my throat
Words reduced
To syllables
Rudiments
Of meaning
Billow away

I haven't thought much about Ferlinghetti since my brief beatnik phase in the 80s, but the first 4 lines of this poem remind me why I loved it. georgebilgere.com/so/85Pc6j639...

In the Flicker
#clash #vss365 #poetry
A poem I wrote, which reads:

There are days where
I feel both the bloom and the bruise.
A tenderness rising against the familiar weight.
Happiness does not erase the dark; it flickers within it,
a candle steady in the storm.
It isn't war,
but a quiet clash of currents: light rising, sorrow sinking, each insisting on its truth.
And still,
I drift between them, where ache and grace converge.
Together, they make me real.

Listen

this work we do,
this living each day

is sacred—

a space
found in each other’s hearts

let go of fixing,
let go of doing

just be,
open to change

if it doesn’t flow from here,
it will not last
