Is there a benefit to police, CPS, or govt to drag out the 6mo. period before seeking CPS advice/decision, and obtaining AG's consent? Obv. not to the extent of missing the deadline for consent as in this case, but generally? Time for evidence-gathering doesn't seem to be an issue in this case.
