Just reread my 2016 interview with Olivia Colman for THE NIGHT MANAGER and I'd forgotten how much good stuff was in it. Yes, she was excited about what being pregnant brought to the role! She hates wearing heels! And doing love scenes! archive.is/HGPxh

Of freaking course I loved the new #TheMuppetShow. Reviews were embargoed from mentioning anything about the opening sequence, so all I'll say here is that for some reason, it made me burst into compulsive sobs.

Obviously, we all gasped at Benedict’s oblivious-man offer to Sophie, but I really enjoyed reading this piece about why, given the circumstances, saying yes wouldn’t have been the worst possible answer.

Over a day since I saw this news story and I'm still flabbergasted by the fact that NBCUniversal couldn't make this happen. It just doesn't make sense. HOW CAN NBC UNIVERSAL NOT WANT A MAN DRESSED AS A MINION TO TAKE THE OLYMPICS STAGE? consequence.net/2026/02/saba...

I genuinely couldn't give a fuck about the tax implications. If you need vulnerable, targeted people to be cash-flow positive in order to find empathy for them, you're a shitty human being.
The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

Don't really think I'll be getting much if any news out of Apple TV's press day today, but I did just hear Kurt Russell say that Dakota Fanning is one of his all-time favorite actresses, citing specifically her work in THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. So I guess that's something.

This sounds unusual but soccer tears up the grass like no other sport and we simply don’t have enough local fields to rotate between in such a short amount of time. This was also what was done in 1984.

Finals remain at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, also like 1984

One of my favorite jokes of all time is "Adolph Hitler Commits Suicide" being a tiny headline under the banner story about a hare-vs-tortoise race ... in 1943, two years before Hitler committed suicide. He was alive and well when the Warner Bros. cartoonists made this joke.

So an odd thing here is that if you say "an unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume" your point is to communicate "it is not really Batman" but the problem is that the real Batman, within the fiction of the comic book "Batman", is also, literally, an unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume
An unidentified man dressed in a Batman costume angrily confronted Santa Clara city officials during a joint meeting of the City Council, city authorities, and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority on Monday, using his public comment to condemn the city’s stance on cooperation with ICE.
