Some higher ed organizations who are loudly circling the wagons against federal funding cuts were oddly silent or circumspect about the earlier attacks on CRT and DEI.
I wish there was a better understanding that these attacks are coming because we failed to repel those.

Making a choice that's bad for you because it will also be bad for someone you don't like is ugly. For many Americans, it is also inconceivable to make a choice that benefits someone else more than oneself. That selfish individualism is our undoing.

Somebody I follow who is not in the US has questioned whether it is ethical for him to continue to buy book written by US authors and I'm like . . . most of us are victims of this regime, not supporters. 😥😕

Fellow phone anxious person here, this is super good advice for calling your reps! (Although for what it's worth the one time I did reach an actual person they were very nice)
The scripts at 5calls.org are helpful walkthroughs & it's been good for me to include it on the list of things to do. If you're phone-anxious like me, calling outside of office hours means you're very likely to get voicemail, too.
